Hike with Jon Menard

Jon Menard has made hiking the great outdoors a wonderful adventure for hundreds of people in the San Francisco Bay Area. His experience and teaching ability is so complete that he can, in one breath, provide advanced technical insight to an experienced outdoors-man and in another provide basic guidance and leadership to the novice. His hikes are fun, great exercise and very educational. Jon has personally hiked and led hikes over many thousands of miles of trails in the western United States. While he specializes in leading day hikes in the Bay Area, Jon has also led hundreds of longer hikes including backpacking trips in the West.

You will be equally comfortable with Jon whether you are a novice he is leading on a day hike through the Marin Headlands or an experienced hiker climbing Mount Whitney.

Jon can provide great insight into equipment, wildlife, terrain, hiking techniques and all of the other pieces needed to make your hike with him a wonderful outdoor experience. Whether you are intending to use these hikes as a way of improving fitness, seeing the bay area from a natural perspective or learning about the Bay Area's wildlife – hiking with Jon is the way to go.

What We Do

We meet in Santa Clara each Monday and certain Saturdays. Our hiking destinations are among the most scenic venues  in the San Francisco Bay Area. The hikes are led by Jon Menard who will provide you with wonderful insight into the surroundings and help you have an outstanding outdoor adventure.

You will be be transported by a modern air-condiioned motor coach or by van (depending upon the group size) to the trail head. There Jon will lead you on your outdoor adventure.
